Syrup was adding wasteful calories and too sweet for me, well I've discovered apple sauce is just as good and tasty. Try it and let me know what you think! I use it on French toast, pancakes and my Belgium waffles to name a few
When I don't feel like exercising, I tell myself I'll just do 10 minutes of whatever. Then, after 10 minutes, I say 5 or 10 more. Then, before I know it 30 or 60 minutes have passed, and I am so glad I did it. I always feel so much better after exercise than before, plus I am proud of myself.
Not only do I walk the dog and walk at work with a pedometer but whenever I clean house, go bowling (every weekend), do yard work, go for a bike ride, etc...log it! It counts as exercise! It may not be heavy cardio but you are being active and exercising so log it and it will motivate you to do more to see those exercise minutes go up!
This snack is amazing! You have 6 ounces of fat free Greek Yogurt, 1 teaspoon of honey, 1/2 cup of chopped strawberries, and 1-2 packets of Splenda. It feel like a cheat snack that gives me my sweet tooth fix, while burning fat!
I found that calories, fats, and carbs were sneaking into my diet, since I was just eyeballing serving sizes (and not very well). So now I keep a few measuring tools close at hand...usually in the drying rack in the sink or in a small bowl. That way, I know exactly how much ingredient (like sugar in my coffee, and rice on my plate...) I am using!
I always keep veggies washed and cut up in the fridge. If my kids want something to eat right before dinner because they are "starving", I never tell them no, I tell them they my have some veggies. I know that this snack won't ruin their meal and if they don't "feel" like eating veggies they must not be that hungry. Also, if they don't eat as much for dinner at least I know they have something healthy in them!
