Breakfast meds entered into a Grouping
At breakfast I take my multiple vitamin, fish oil capsule, vitamin E and calcium pill. This was time consuming clicking each one on my nutrition tracker every day, so I made a "grouping" with all these and named it " Breakfast meds". Now with one click in my groupings all my breakfast meds are added to my breakfast at one time.
Cut off (about 1/3 of the way down) a 2 liter Coke bottle. It makes a great funnel for putting bird seed in the feeder or other funnel uses. Costs no money and works great.
If apples become mushy, peel, core & slice them. Place the apple slices in a microwavable dish. Sprinkle lightly with brown sugar & cinnamon. Cover and microwave on high for 3-5 min. until your desired degree of tenderness is obtained. Serve warm. (for dessert add FF Cool Whip)
Saving gas and time on errands
Gas prices are so high and I live way out in the country. When I do go (and have 6-10 stops) I make my lists and give each stop a number so I will not "back track" across town wasting time and gas. Try it, you will like it!
Raw vs hard boiled eggs
If you are unsure which egg in the refrigerator is hard boiled and which is raw, spin each on the counter. Raw eggs will not spin, but hard boiled eggs will spin and spin.
Stew Meat Cost
Never pay high prices for stew meat. Wait until they have roasts (I prefer boneless) on sale. Take them home, cut them in the size pieces you want for your stew, wrap and freeze. It is the same thing and will save you money.
If you lose your wire "twistee" on your loaf of bread, get all the air out that you can, then twist the sack close to the bread top and turn the top down over the rest of the loaf.
Trash bag liners
When you open a new bag of liners, take several and put in the bottom of the trash can. When you take a full bag of trash out, a new trash bag is ready to line the container.
Staying "honest" with food amounts
To keep myself "honest" I occasionally measure that tablespoon of peanut butter before putting it on the toast and measure that 1/2 c. of vegetable before putting it on my plate.
I cut my dryer sheets in 1/2 and they work just as good as a whole sheet and go twice as far.
