Notice you are pretty warm when you wake up? Well, you could go ahead and do some simple stretches while you are still in bed, and under the covers. I like to stretch my hip muscles this way, because my house is not as warm as I would like.
I started my weight loss journey 12 months ago. Lost 31 lbs then hit a plateau. Have been at the same weight since Oct. 2010 or within 1-3 lbs. But now I feel positive. I am trying everything new, Zumba, ballroom dancing, even cross-fit, which I am now in training for ....I FEEL GREAT..I thought I was too old...soon to be 62. Next...I am going to try a spin class
When I was in college, I went to the personal counseling office because I was feeling really overwhelmed, and my counselor told me something about procrastination that will always stick with me: "Don't wait until you "feel like" doing something, because chances are good you'll never "feel like" doing it."
I have incorporated stretching into my daily route of cleaning. When I go to make the beds I place my legs one at a time up on our bed and stretch. As I go through the day I stretch while doing my daily chores, when vacuuming I stretch my sides, reach for the stars or cob webs! Be creative STRETCH!
I always wondered if I should eat or not after a workout. As I'm not hungry after jogging, I thought it is good not to eat, also to help my weight loss. Actually this is not the case.
On the days I do cardio only at the gym, my routine is to do 60 minutes. I dread it because it seems so long. Lately rather than stay on one piece of equipment for the entire time, I have spent 20 on the elliptical, 20 on the treadmill and 20 on the bike. It goes so much faster and before I've had time to think about how much longer I have to go, I'm done. WOOHOO!
I tell myself to go to the gym and just do at least 30 minutes of cardio--once I've done that, I often find myself doing some strength training or doing another 15 min. of cardio. Sometimes the hardest part of exercising is getting started!
