I add diced zucchini in enchiladas, salads and really most any recipe that calls for veggies. I dice them up and a heat them with pam in a skillet then add the remaining ingredients for that dish, they add fiber and bulk to my low calorie meals, without changing the taste. Just a neat trick to get more veggies in each day.
I have found that one good way to add a little extra kick to my exercise is to one 1 minute burst. This can be any exercise you want doing it as hard as you can for just one minute. I try to repeat these about once an hour mostly in the afternoons, when I do a lot more sitting.
I plan my meals and add them to my tracker once a week, then I know what I am eating..NO guessing just eat the planned meal. If I am going out I check out the menus and then track what I plan again, no guessing so I am not tempted to eat other things, I rarely even look at the menu if I do this. The more I plan the better I am eating and can handle small challenges when they come up.
If you want to have success then TRACK, food, exercise, spark points, measurements, just really use the tools here. The more you do this the more you accountable you are to yourself. I also like it because I can go back to the beginning and see where I have made changes and if I need to tweak it more. TRACK IT!!!!!
You need these 2 qualities to make this journey to health work. This is not a short journey so you need to patient and know its going to take time. You must have endurance too, these will be bumps along the way, but if you keep pushing forward you will make it. You can find your way through lifes potholes and bumps to become healthier and fitter and yes thinner too. Learn to cultivate endurance and patience and add some love for yourself.
Ok we all have laundry to do, when it comes to folding its a bore, well one day I had on some oldies and just started moving to the music while folding and putting away. I keep my feet a stepping, it was fun and when I checked my pedometer I had added another 10 minutes to my aerobic steps. Cool way to get some fun exercise and get work done too.
Plateaus are something we will all face and there are ways to break through, but it might take time. Never give up keep trying something new or different and know that in time (something we all have but want it to go faster) you will break through and get to your goal. So never give up!
No matter what the scale shows, if you know in your mind that you are following the right path, you will have the motivation you need to make it to another day. We need to learn to not stress over the numbers and learn how to applaud the journey. We will make to the end and get healthy and fit.
Exercise is a tough thong for many people, but try it, start slow and keep working on consistence and increasing your time. The funny thing is that those lovely endorphins will kick in and you feel great. You will want more and slowly start to like it!!
You have to really want to be healthier and fit. You have to be willing to give up foods that are unhealthy and instead of trying to find a way to eat them, understand that you just cant have the unhealthy version, find a healthy way.
