Healthy Ice Cream

Take a frozen banana, one cup of another frozen fruit (example blueberries), blend them up in the blender. I then add a tblspoon of Garden of Life Raw Meal Chocolate Powder--and instant chocolate ice cream!

Put That Exercise On "PAUSE"--You Heard me!

When I decide to do a chore, read a bit, watch tv, or anything else, I pop in my exercise dvd/video for the day. Whenever I need a break, I turn it on and work out as hard as I can for up to ten minutes. I then put the dv/video on "pause" and go back to whatever it was I was involved in. Doing short spurts of intensive exercising really pushes my body. I am more inclined to push to the limit for ten minutes, rather than complete a dvd/tape in one sitting I garner maximum calorie range in a short

Dirty Microwaves

If you have a dirty microwave and everything you put in it blew up and now you have a tough mess to clean. Simply cut a lemon in 1/2 and put it in a bowl with some water and microwave for 2-3mins. The steam will loosen the mess and the lemon leaves it smelling wonderfully. Easy to clean no chemicals to smell.

Lasagna without noodles

I blanch cabbage leaves and drain them and then use them in place of the pasta. It freezes beautifully and my husband and I hardly miss the pasta.

Tofu success without deep fat frying

I love tofu in Asian restaurants but know that they deep fat fry the pieces. I asked a Chinese friend how her tofu comes out so perfect . She told me to drop the pieces into boiling water for a minute or two, then drain. Then fry the pieces with just a thin coating of oil in the skillet. Comes out perfect without the excess oil. The outside of the pieces are nice and crusty. I use firm tofu for this.

Planning ahead

I admire the spark members who are able to stay on track without tracking their food. It is I guess reserved to a small select group which I don't belong to. I don't like tracking but the times I have been successful I have. So once a week I take the time to plan it all in advance! It works for me!

Secret to Success of burning extra calories

When I start to get bored, I will take the dog for a quick walk. That burns about 25 calories for a quick trip around the block, which is about .25 miles! emoticon
