Failing to make 10,000 steps a day was a bit discouraging until I realized that I hadn't attained a smaller goal of 5,000 steps. I reset my pedometer from 10,000 to 5,000 and four days after reaching 5,000 steps consecutively, I hit 10,000!!! Bottom line is: I try not to make my goals unattainable.
The title says it! Your metabolism will thank you!!
I have a bottle of water at my bedside. When I wake up, I drink 8 oz. This gets my hydration started for the day. And somehow, it seems when I do this consistently, I tend to eat less. I don't know why or how; I just know it works!!!
I try coming up with "Spark" words to keep me constantly reminded about "the Spark" concept, and it helps me remember my health goals! Spark-walk, Spark-wich, Spark-run, Spark-fast, Spark-uum, Spark-break, Spark-ster, Spark-ler, Spark-fest, etc. SPARK-Everything!!!!
I've decided starting November 1st (that's tomorrow!!) For one whole month, I'm starting Sunday Morning: "Just one pound this week! I am going to say goodbye to one pound this week!" I'm not worrying about two pounds or any more than that! I will weigh in on Saturday morning, will allow myself the remainder of that day to "enjoy" the results -good or bad- for that week, but come Sunday, it will be "nose-to-the-grindstone" time!! Will keep you posted if this is a good secret or not!!!!
My goal is to eliminate the words "a little more" from my food vocabulary. It's all the "little more's" that add up to the excess weight. So, it is true (in art, as in many other areas in life): "less is more" - but so is A LITTLE MORE!!!
I've had my Shape-Ups since mid-August. I wish every pair of shoes I own was designed like them! - They absolutely help my exercise / walking program. To me, the investment (they ARE expensive) was very well worth every penny!! Put them on your Christmas Wish List, if nothing else!!!!
It wasn't about YESTERDAY - regret can't reverse that.
I lost my focus on logging into SparkPeople daily, so came up with this idea: Log in, spin the wheel, the number of points I receive is the number of goals I have to do on SparkPeople for TODAY. There is so much to be done here on Spark that even if I reach 50 points -LOL- there will be plenty for me to do. And I do not do the same goals as the day before!! - Have done this only for three days now, but so far has worked really well!! And I'm loving the results!!
