Healthier Than Breath Mints...

Instead of using gum and breath mints...that have additives and various forms of sugar try whole cloves or a tiny piece of cinnamon bark for fresh breath. (no need to chew or swallow).
Added benefit: Save money!

Virtual Walking

Loving my pedometer as I follow my progress virtually on some of the world's most amazing trails. Every night I log my steps and view pictures of sights along the trail. I can walk around a snowy lake or feel the warmth of the tropical sun.
The more steps I take, the bigger my reward at the end of the day! It's addictive...I'm approaching one year of consistency!
Added benefit: the house is getting cleaner because I do less sitting! Burn those calories and Walk4Fun!

Removing Snow off Vehicle

Try using a wooly dust mop to remove snow off of your vehicle. Floor mops have long handles and the wool won't scratch paint like some shovels. Added benefit...a cleaner mop!

Prevent Wet Phone & Pedometer

Tip: Ever get caught in rain/snow/sleet? Take a few small plastic sandwich bags when you go on your walk, hike, sporting event...great prevention for anyone of any age who might be at risk for a wet phone/pedometer from wet pockets!! Easier than rice!

Cheap Warming Tray No Electricity and Party Helper

A metal cupcake pan bottom of stainless kitchen sink...put a few tea lights in pan. Space candles as needed.
Put a metal cookie tray that overlaps the sink...leaving air gaps along sides. The tray got warm pretty quickly and it was perfect for keeping our mugs of coffee/cocoa warm in a cold room when the power went out. The tea lights last for hours. CAUTION: Tray can get HOT depending on number of candles and an open flame is a fire hazard...the more candles, the more heat.

Shocking! Just have to Share...

I emptied a kitchen cabinet today...long overdue! Found an old set of dishes from the 1960's. The size of those dishes compared to today's everyday dishes...unbelievable! No wonder my portions seem so small when I measure....years ago, we didn't need to measure because the cups and plates and bowls were normal sized. Tomorrow I am removing my oversized plates, bowls & mugs and see if I can go back to eating normal portions naturally. Would love to know if anyone else has done this?

My 2014 Happy Plan

No more January focus on "I can't....." (fill in the deprivation).

Today I will focus on what I CAN do good for myself, hoping to make every day a success by adding something I can "have" not focus on what I can't (eat, or do).Today I plan to eat 2 Fruits instead of one or none and take two 5 minute walks in the house, it's icy and I don't have a treadmill. My plan, keep it simple and successful! Be kind to others...and to myself! If I journal my success, maybe I will smile myself to sleep!
