I work in a hospital from 7a-7p and anyone that has ever worked in an ER knows how awful the staff tends to eat. There are always treats and lots of take out food. To combat the sugar cravings I brought in my own personal jar of natural peanut butter and I bum a couple of packages of broken hospital graham crackers. It's plenty sweet for me and it takes care of the cravings. I actually feel like I've been cheating.........but I haven't :)
Hate to throw away small slivers of bath soap? Try saving the pieces in an old pair of nylons or knee highs, clean ones. When you have several saved tie a knot in the nylons so the soap won't fall out. Use it in the shower like a loofa.
Do you hate it when cottage cheese separates and you end up with a yellowish, watery liquid you have to stir back into it? Try turning the container upside down when you place it back in the fridge, after you've open it and used some. I've been doing this for years and it really works.
Wet a dish rag or sponge, put it in the microwave and "cook" for a least a minute. Let the dish rag sit in the microwave for a minute as it will be too hot to handle. Wipe out the inside and door of microwave. It's easy and it doesn't cost you anything. Works great for tough cooked on spills!
Before boiling your eggs, wrap the outer skin from an onion around the egg. You can use red or yellow onions. Next wrap the egg and onion skin in paper towel. Secure with a rubber band. Boil eggs as normal. This also works well if you want to remember which eggs in your fridge are hard boiled.
