3M Labels for Leftovers

3M, the maker of post-it notes, and other paper goods companies make post-it notes that are sticky all over on one side. I use these to label leftovers in the fridge with contents and date - no more mystery food! This makes packing leftovers for lunch much easier and lets me know when things need to be thrown out. Genius!

Put Yourself on Your To-Do List

It's so easy to get bogged down in the day-to-day stuff. I put my workouts, SparkPeople time, and other things for myself down on my to-do list. Because if it's not there, it doesn't happen and I neglect myself and my health.

Keep a Reward Stash

I find it hard to resist impulse buys for myself when I'm out shopping or running errands. So I go ahead and scoop things up - and put them in a box when I get home. The box contains a variety of things at different price points. When I've earned a reward for meeting a goal, I choose something from the box. It's as good as going shopping all over again - and gives me something to look forward to.

Moving Comfort Brand Workout Clothes

Photograph your food

Use your cell phone to snap a pic of your meal when you eat out and/or can't track your food right away. This makes it a lot easier to accurately track later: you don't have to worry about forgetting something.

Gum

Chewing sugar free gum really helps me get past those mid-afternoon sweet craving. The chewing motion makes me feel like I'm eating something and the sweet flavor satiates my sweet craving.

Rubbermaid Stacking Food Containers

Rubbermaid makes food containers that stack neatly and whose lids stick together and to the bottom of the containers. This kills two birds with one stone: organization and portion control. Their containers come in small, sensible sizes that make portion control a no-brainer.

Fresh Herbs

Budget calories for dessert

I always save 100 or so calories of my daily budget for dessert. This prevents me from feeling deprived and satisfies my sweet tooth while keeping me well within my calorie range for the day. It also helps prevent binging since I know I can have that pudding or chocolate chip cookie.
