I started back today I did several small 5 min work outs today while my coffee was being brewed and my breakfast cooking . Yes, it was only 83 calories burned,but that was 83 I did not burn in the previous mornings. it is a start & I feel good about myself!!
When going to a restaurant ask for a container as you are ordering ,when food arrives put half in container. These days the food is for more than one meal, I would keep shoveling it in & I was full.Now when I started to do this I am full & do not need to eat the rest. save it for the next day
I have a computer file listed with the names of family & friends.Every time I hear them mention certain things they like or books they are looking forward to read, I type it in . When Christmas times come or birthdays I have a list of items to choose from. It is real neat to see their expressions because they probably thought no one was listening to things they like. Saves a lot of time searching for something for them,& gives pleasure in knowing you gave them something they will enjoy
My mother in law always labeled everything. I now do the same,I label what is in each tote, even my manila envelopes that I store special papers in.All my Christmas things are stored in totes & each one has what is in them, I label them by room also,because certain things go in special rooms of there own. I no longer rip everything apart trying to find just one thing, keeps me from getting frustrated like years gone by
I have already in the past bought assorted mixed vegetables microwave the time they tell you to,but they always were mushy & bland. Now if I do not have fresh to grill & I have the frozen I grill, last night I had a mix in a bag of squash,zucchini carrots & peppers. I sprayed reynold's wrap & placed vegetables on & grilled added some seasoning & WOW what a difference.
I had an extra check book transaction register. I am taking that where ever I go & recording all I eat the first column is the time I eat anything, the next is the date, & where it says description of transaction I put the type of food I ate & the next column I put how much. I put this in a plastic sleeve cover with a pen. On the outside of register I put the date I started doing this Where it says name of Financial Institute I put Eating Healthier for My Future Gain of Living Longer.
Today I put my Easter Ham in the crock pot with one cup of water.It was so moist, & the juice from the ham made the delicious gravy.It was a precooked skinless ham .Put it on low for four hours. My sister in laws do this all the time & I could use the oven for the rest of my dishes.The key was the moistens of the ham.
Put your credit card in a jar of water & freeze it. When you want to use it you would need to have it unthaw, & by that time you have had plenty of time to decide whether you really need the item. This will stop the impulse buying.However;if you are so desperate you will either smash the jar & run hot water on the ice or run hot water on the jar until it unthaws.
I keep frozen fruits on hand. I eat them as they are or put one cup on my hot cereal,or when I make muffins I put frozen blue berries in the batter. I take frozen fruit & pour a glass of Crystal light over them taste so good. ( have a large teaspoon I use to eat the fruit from the glass )
