i walk alone

so often we are told to have a walking buddy, to make it fun, but for me, i stay more motivated if i walk alone, i cant walk and talk without getting winded faster, so its better for me to walk alone

Night time eating/bingeing

I have learned that I gained most of my weight bingeing in the evenings in front of the television once my children went to sleep. What helped me acheive my goal weight was the following. Keep low calorie snacks handy if you really need to eat. Do not allow high calorie foods in the bedroom if that is where you watch TV or work on a computer. (I stick with 94 % fat free popcorn or an apple.) Learn a craft like cross stitching or crocheting to keep hands busy instead of your mouth. Good Luck!

Saving for something big!

I have been doing this a little while which is pay myself one dollar for every day I eat well and one dollar for every day I work out. The plan is to get myself a treadmill when I have saved enough.

Mini goals

Losing an amount of weight can seem really daunting - I have 50lbs to lose and thinking of it like that it is such a big number. So to make it easier I make myself mini goals. Reaching the next decade, stone (I am from the UK). My next mini goal is that I have 3lbs to go and I will be half way there! Focusing on a smaller amount of weight to lose seems more do-able and inspires me to move onto the next mini goal.

"dancing" in my chair

Since I have a desk job and I am tethered to the phone and computer all day, i don't get many opportunities to get up and move around. so, i listen to music in one ear, take the calls in the other, and move around in my seat to get some activity going. i have been doing this long enough that my co-workers no longer look at me like i'm weird. i know it isn't much exercise, but it is something.

Do it When You Don't Want to

When I started going to the gym regularly, it was a real chore. I hated it (I still don't love it). On days when the gym was the last thing I wanted to see, I insisted that I did not have a choice. I forced myself, Those are the days that felt the most fulfilling and successful. I usually tried different things and pushed myself harder in order to forget that I didn't want to be there.

Now when I go to the gym, I always feel energize afterwards. It's become a sweet treat instead of a chore.

Morning Squats!

To squeeze in a little more exercise in the morning I like to do squats while im brushing my teeth, and doing my hair and make up. It ends up being about an extra 15 minutes of exercise! emoticon
