I am a firm believer that the past is exactly where it should remain. Tomorrow is a new day which brings about new challenges. Reflecting too much on the past can prevent you from moving forward. Learn from your past; there is no need to incorporate it into your future if nothing good came from it before. The future is uncertain, but letting the past dictate your direction will almost certainly seal your fate. Leave the past where it belongs. Keep moving forward!!!
Everyone talks about goals they have set for themselves, but what about after the goal has been reached? The easy part is attaining your goal; the hard part is maintaining the new you. You work so hard to reach your peak, but have to work so much harder to avoid relapsing. It's a scary thought, but it happens to so many. Create a plan that will keep you going. Don't stop! If you find a reason to stop today, you will find another reason to stop tomorrow. KEEP...DIGGING...DEEP!!!
There are times when I get down because I didn't achieve certain things in life. The best thing that ever happened to me was that I was never given a shoulder to cry on in those situations. From that point I realized that - if you really want to help someone - the best way to bring a person up is to give them a nice verbal kick in the a$$ to get them going back in the right direction. By sympathizing, it allows that person to further justify feeling down or negative.
I love when people come up and speak to me in a negative manner. They say things like "you can't do this" or "you're not good enough." I channel those words toward creating a new motivation to assist toward reaching my goals. Rather than let it get me down, I make it a point to show MYSELF (key word there...) that I am better than what the negative statements presume. I am a better person because of that. Trust me, it is only that much more rewarding in the long run!
