To me, this may be the most key thing in life and in weight loss. You have a bump in the road: Forgive yourself and move on! Someone has called you a hurtful weight related name in the past: Forgive and move on! You will be stuck in a rut if you don't forgive yourself and others. Remember what Jesus has done for us. Ephesians 4:32 - And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
Think of every day starting out with a budget of how many calories you have to spend for the day. If you get tempted to eat a cookie or something not good, consider it as debt that will be very costly plus interest! This tip has helped my mindset throughout the day and just like when you swipe a credit card and know the costly interest will come along with it; look at that cookie and ask...Is it REALLY worth it?
When I first signed up for sparkpeople, they ask you to set your fast break goals to get you started. I did this, but I have continued to track them through my journey. I find that I always want to be able to check off those little boxes saying that I am following my plan.
I have a box upstairs of my "small clothes" that I want to fit into. There's a particular pair of jeans that I want to wear so I hung them on a hanger in my rooms so I would see them every time I walk into the room. I got the idea to take a picture of them and put it on the background of my phone. I am constantly checking the time and messages and I am constantly reminded of those jeans! It has really helped me to stay on track and stay motivated. They are always in my face! :)
