Studies prove that people are more likely to stay on track when "eyes are watching them." A mirror on the refrigerator, and one in the pantry, may subconsiously reduce snacking, sneaking or binging. PLUS, looking at yourself will remind you of your goals and help make that decision on whether you are going to snack or choose another option when you are not truly hungry.
When I quit pop or anything else I want to quit . When I see it and want it , if I quickly say I don't drink or eat or __ this ...If I saw a pop and wanted it, I would just say " I don't drink that "! And it really does work--what you say does really matter....
When I count my reps in a set (of exercises) I count 1,2...10, PLUS 1, PLUS 2 so the couple of extra reps I do are acknowledged as "above and beyond"... As I count down the time left on the crosstrainer, I convert the minutes into a percentage remaining, or percentage completed - the maths is a distraction, and once I've hit the 100% - anything extra is acknowledged as 'above and beyond"...
