Using Spark recipes

When you look at recipes at sparkrecipes.com, some are rated with stars and some are not. This does not mean the unstarred recipes aren't great, they just haven't been rated yet. Be the first to try and rate some of the unrated recipes. Some of them are sure to be fantastic!

Using "Click to add/edit an extra meal

I hated logging my sport drink and gels/bars that I consume on long bike rides and runs as "snacks!" Then I noticed the add/edit an extra meal feature at the very bottom of the nutrition page. I added a category called "Sports Nutrition" and keep my fuel separate from my real snacks. This also helps to track how well my fuel is working when I compare it to my workout notes.

Love those Spark Points!

I found that going to My Sparkpoints is a great way to explore all that this site has to offer. Until I read all the ways to get points, I didn't know about Trivia, or Secrets of Success. When I click "view sparkpoints" it reminds me of all the different ways Sparkpeople supports me on my fitness quest, with articles, blogs, teams, recipes. There is such a wealth of info here.

Using the mapping tool

I have used several online mapping tools to calculate my biking and running mileage and to lay out new routes. Most leave me wanting to cuss! The mapping tool on Sparkpeople (on the cardio page) is the easiest one I've used.
