I was always taught to clean my plate so I wouldn't waste food. Then one day my husband asked me why it was less wasteful to use my body as a garbage can for food I didn't want or need. I have never, ever forgotten that. I can leave food I don't need on the plate now. I won't use my body as a garbage can.
On days that I don't feel like exercising or think that I don't have time, I remember that I ALWAYS feel better after I've exercised. I never regret taking that 30-60 mins to exercise but I've often regretted skipping it.
Get up an hour early and get moving. You can go to the gym or go for a run...whatever suits you. Try to prep anything you need the night before (pack your gym bag, organize the clothes you're wearing the following day, put out a quick morning snack).
I LOVE CHIPS - the crunches, the flavors, etc, but they are always sooo Bad for you. I found Pop Chips crunch perfectly awesome, and taste great too. They are never fried, never baked, all natural, nothing fake or phony.
I bought a bunch of veggies I LIKE: cherry tomatoes, turnips, snap peas, zucchini, squash, mushrooms, etc. - Washed, dried, chopped into bit size pieces, and mixed together. I keep it in a ziplock bag in the fridge. Now THIS is my go to snack when I want to mindlessly munch. Most of these foods have the CRUNCH of snack food, and it is a sneaky way to get in veggies.
When I have a pause in the day I do 5 squats with deep breathing and move my arms (up and out on the way up; down and in on the way down) as well. This gives my brain a burst of oxygen and it gives me a boost in my energy.
Plain and simple...... I find as many distractions as possible to get myself away from the kitchen and keeping busy. Talk to people I enjoy, work on a project that is involved, stay away from the house., in the good weather stay outside or anything at all that is enjoyable and keeps my mind off of eating!
