Room-temp water

Of all of the tips I learned while losing weight, drinking my water at room temp was the most life-changing for me! I had been sipping my cold water all day until I discovered (learned from a seasoned dieter) that if I drink my water at room temp I could gulp it down in seconds. 2 litres of water has been a minimum of water intake for me since then...for the last 2 years...and it is EASY.

Turbo cleaning

Yup. I just up and set a timer for 15 minutes and go to a "hot spot" and clean like crazy. Love it and my house looks so much better! emoticon

Waste

I was always taught to clean my plate so I wouldn't waste food. Then one day my husband asked me why it was less wasteful to use my body as a garbage can for food I didn't want or need. I have never, ever forgotten that. I can leave food I don't need on the plate now. I won't use my body as a garbage can.

Lose the All or Nothing Mentality

You don't have to do a zillion sets or exercise for hours. Just do SOMETHING. Having an "all or nothing" mentality will keep you trapped in an on again off again relationship with exercise!

You will always feel better afterwards

On days that I don't feel like exercising or think that I don't have time, I remember that I ALWAYS feel better after I've exercised. I never regret taking that 30-60 mins to exercise but I've often regretted skipping it.

Workout in the morning

Get up an hour early and get moving. You can go to the gym or go for a run...whatever suits you. Try to prep anything you need the night before (pack your gym bag, organize the clothes you're wearing the following day, put out a quick morning snack).

Pop Chips - a Great Potato Chip Alternative!!! Low Fat, All Natural, Healthiest chip I could find.

I LOVE CHIPS - the crunches, the flavors, etc, but they are always sooo Bad for you. I found Pop Chips crunch perfectly awesome, and taste great too. They are never fried, never baked, all natural, nothing fake or phony.
* no trans fat
* no saturated fat
* no cholesterol
* no preservatives
They are about 120 calories for 20 - 22 of these chips. A great filling serving.

Raw Mixed Veggies (my potato chips)

I bought a bunch of veggies I LIKE: cherry tomatoes, turnips, snap peas, zucchini, squash, mushrooms, etc. - Washed, dried, chopped into bit size pieces, and mixed together. I keep it in a ziplock bag in the fridge. Now THIS is my go to snack when I want to mindlessly munch. Most of these foods have the CRUNCH of snack food, and it is a sneaky way to get in veggies. emoticon

Squat for a quick burst of energy!

When I have a pause in the day I do 5 squats with deep breathing and move my arms (up and out on the way up; down and in on the way down) as well. This gives my brain a burst of oxygen and it gives me a boost in my energy. emoticon

Prep Work

If I spend an hour on the weekend washing and chopping fresh veggies, I'm so much more likely to choose them instead of a less healthy snack. Makes getting lunches together for work a snap, too.
