I used to get so frustrated looking at my wt. loss ticker. Went to a new Dr. last week. As we discussed my weight, he asked me what my Goal wt. is. I gave him a low number equaling -75 lbs. He gently said, why not just get from Obese into Overweight BMI for now. Then get from Overweight into Healthy. Then at that time determine Final Goal. Then Maintenance. I came home and changed my SP Wt. Loss Ticker to the first goal. Much less daunting. My 4-step Goal Plan is such a relief. Break it down.
In formulating my Weight Loss Goals, I realized how many "I want to's" were thrown into the mix. I want to lose weight, I want to be slim, I want to fit into a smaller size clothing, I want to be healthier, etc. Then I realized how futile it is to think that I can wish, hope, and dream away the weight. Change requires action. Now each morning I tell myself that Just for Today, I WILL do instead of WANT to. Just for one day, I can do anything.
