I'm a carbaholic and have recently switched from doing Atkins to a low-cal, low fat diet, but we still need to watch the carbs.
I am loving those fruit cups I have found at Walmart & Dillon's. They're in the fresh produce section ~ blueberries, pineapple, mixed fruit & more. I grab one & can drink the juice & fruit while driving to work. Add a protein bar & you're good to go until lunch time. Plus, they're only 70 - 100 calories!
I have loved green tea for a long time, hot cups in the winter and iced on a hot summer day. I make it by the cup and add liquid stevia to sweeten it and sometimes a sqeeze of lemon. I usually have at least 2 cups everyday but sometimes 4-5. Besides just enjoying the flavor I love that it quells my hunger and if I drink it about 30 min before a meal I notice I don't eat as much!
A friend recommended that I chew sugar-free gum while cooking to keep from snacking during meal preparation. I have used that idea then and also when cleaning up after the meal and putting food away. I also chew gum when I am having a sweet craving after dinner. It cuts out the calories that I don't really want.
I enter well known breakfasts and lunches (from past tracking experience) and then "tweek" dinners to fit my caloric and nutritional balances that are remaining. Some days I cut back on dinner... and some I add some goodies to meet my nutrional needs for the day. Works for me!
