Homemade meals.

Basic ingredients are a key to defensive eating. When I cook my meals from its basic forms rather than pre-packaged meals, I lose more weight that if I use pre-packaged foods or if I eat out because I can control what goes in to the preparation the food. For example, when I cook a steak, I can brown it in a pan with a spray cooking oil like PAM, Then I steam it until it is done. That way I don't have to add oil to my steak. Oh, yes, don't forget to season it with a little garlic powder.

Wake up Call

I had not idea that food advertisements controlled me like they did. I saw a pop tart advertised on TV and then binged on four of them. Then I realized. I don't even like pop tarts. I think of them as sweet cardboard. Why was I eating them? Because I did what the ad wanted me to. I vowed to try to be in charge of my eating and not allow myself to be controlled by outside sources such as TV, great bakery smells...etc.

Heavenly Delicious Food

When I eat really tasty food without all of the starches and fats, I don't eat as much. Using an abundance of spices helps me to enjoy the food more and to eat more slowly because I enjoy the tast so much. emoticon
