Califlower Can Help You Lose Wight

Califlower is a nutrient dense food so you can eat lots of it without having to worry about your weight. It's only 25 calories per ounce. This food is also high in water content & water rich foods are believed to be natural appetite suppressants for weight loss. Eat raw in salad, with hummus as a dip, in soups, steamed, broiled, baked in a casserole or mashed into a potato.

Natural thicker for soups and casseroles

For recipes that call for flour to thicken soups and or casseroles I add about 1/4 cup of cooked sweet potatoes. For example, I decrease the eggs and flour in a salmon casserole and replace the flour in brocolli soup with chopped/cooked sweet potatoes.

No More Brown Bananas

I eat ( and buy ) lots of bananas. To avoid having them turn
brown so quickly, simply separate them. It really works!

Don't Wait Until You "Feel Like It."

When I was in college, I went to the personal counseling office because I was feeling really overwhelmed, and my counselor told me something about procrastination that will always stick with me: "Don't wait until you "feel like" doing something, because chances are good you'll never "feel like" doing it."

Forget the Thermostat

Instead of touching the thermostat when I get cold, I get up and do a little exercise. Just 5 or 10 minutes of walking in place or chair exercises warm me right up and I stay warm for awhile. It's a good way to save electric AND get some exercise in.

Drinking water with a meal

So this is probably a no-brainer for most people, but for me it was a revelation yesterday. I went through four glasses of water with my supper simply by taking one bite of food and then one sip of water. I hate water, so this was a major deal! I'm also not used to drinking anything with my meal; I prefer to save it for the end. But I found not only did I get the water down, but it wasn't so bad since I knew I could have a bite of something tasty right after my one sip.

Making Hard-Boiled Eggs

Instead of boiling eggs, heat the oven to 325 and put the eggs in a cupcake pan and bake for 25-30 mins. The shells come off amazing. I saw this on pinterest and had to try it and it worked like a charm! Best thing I found on pinterest.

Find Kindred Spirits

The old song line "I get by with a little help from my friends" definitely applies to staying the course beyond reaching goal. Finding Spark teams that focus on maintaining motivation to maintain (At Goal and Maintaining, to name the first I joined) and meeting Spark friends in person, even across miles and states has helped keep the maintenance journey as fresh as the excitement of losing it in the first place.
