Less Calories in camping S'mores

When we camp we love smores. I have a food grinder. I grind DARK chocolate to almost a powder and put 1/2 teasoon on each bottom wafer. When you put on the hot mallow it all oozes to the edges and tastes really good.
I keep the chocolate in a small container in the fridge and it keeps for ages..

Balance is really important-Espec
ially
for seniors.

When i use My microwave to reheat I try to stand balanced on one leg and count off the times while I balance. Change legs after a minute or 30 seconds. This helps us to maintain good balance skills and helps prevent falls. At first hold the counter till you can balance well and then use fingertips.

Make a habit of using your sink.

Always use your sink when filling containers of ant kind. When filling cannisters or bottles Even if you use a funnel it might overflow and the mess is in your sink. Not on your counter. Filling sugar and flour the jar is lower when in the sink and filling is easier to do. Spills go down the drain.

Painting in corners and trim.

When you are painting the trim and the corners have lint in them keep an extra brush close by..
A dry extra brush allows you to dust off any lint that might be left from prepping the surface, especailly after sanding. Just brush with dry brush ahead of your work to keep the paint job dust free.

Grating ginger for stir fries.

I prefer Ginger root for stir fries. I store my ginger root in a zipper bag in my freezer. When I want the ginger I just remove the end skin and grate the frozen root over the pot.
It goes through the fine grater and sprinkles over the surface. No clumping. I return ginger in bag to the freezer.

Sponges for washing dishes.

I use sponges to wash dishes, those that are not dishwasher safe, Sponges can be washed on the top shelf of your dishwasher. After they cool check to see if any water can be rung out then microwave for 30 seconds to kill any remaining bacteria.

Keeping your washable cutting board in place.

I love the dishwasher safe cutting boards. Usually made from Plastic, glass or any other surface that slips. If you heavily dampen one ( two paper towels if thay are thin). Place them under your board for rolling or hand chopping. The board will stay in place. For a long job, wet it again as needed.

Arnold thins. Replaced HFCS with Sucralose.

These taste great but they really upset my stomach. On close inspection of the label the last ingredient is SUCRALOSE. SPLENDA also upsets my stomach. I wish they wouyld take it out. These are so good and useful.

Cheddar and other aged cheeses are naturally lactose free. This is because the whey has been removed and the whey is where the sugar and lactose are. I visited Cabot creamery in Vermont and that is where I discovered this little secret. Mac and cheese, Broccoli and cheese grilled cheese Here I come
