I saw a friend's mom dip her fingers in a bowl of water and sprinkle it over her salad, then she would season her salad. I now do the same, and I use a mixture of different spices to add flavor. The water gives the spices and seasonings something to stick to, without turning the salad soggy!
What I miss the most in low calorie diets is dessert. I cannot eat just one or two cookies. For 100 calories, I have a sixteen ounce root beer float. I use diet root beer and one-half cup (100 calories) of slow churned low fat vanilla ice cream. Mmmmmmm delicious and extremely satisfying!
Losing weight when I am very busy, stressed, or in the middle of a crisis does not work for me. I pick a time when I have the time and energy to focus every day without distractions - this is not easy for me or anyone else. Viewing my weight loss as a lifestyle change has allowed me to not only lose weight, but also maintain the weight loss. Do I eat sweets and chocolate? Do I go out for drinks with friends? Yes. Keep moving, and find the joy in eating healthy, chocolate included.
