Blood sugar

The key to keeping blood sugar levels in tact is by watching the amount of carb intake. Since I have been counting carbs, I have been able to lower my insuling dosage.

Get Up!

"Not so Sweet"

It is very important to limit sugar in one's diet if weight loss is desired -- especially hidden added sugars in processed foods: cereal, yogurt, even certain bread. Stick to natural sugars that come in fresh fruit.

"KEEP MOVING"

If you are having problems staying regular, I suggest adding flax seed meal to your diet. Just two teaspoons provides the daily recommended amount of fiber. It has a nutty flavor and can be added to hot cereal, ground beef or chicken, etc., and it keeps everything moving!

"OUTER RIM"

Remember when doing your grocery shopping to stay on the outer rim or isles of the store. There you will find fruits, vegetables, beans, spices, etc. All of the foods that are healthy for consumption. When you get into the inner isles is where the processed, unhealthy items are.

"ONE DAY AT A TIME"

If you have never been a healthy eater and want to become one, it's not going to happen overnight. By adding one new vegetable or healthy food a week will slowly build your menu and before you know it, you won't be thinking twice about the unhealthy stuff.

Don't have enough time throughout your day to exercise. Why not break it up into three 10-minute sessions? If you're working, use your breaks and lunch hour. At least you're getting the recommended minimum of 30 minutes a day.

MERCY

The bible says that God's mercies are renewed everyday. With this in mind, how can we not stay motivated on a daily bases. Even if we get off course from time to time, keeping in mind that mercy is extended to us on any given day, we can get back up and continue on and God will take us through.
