I have a real problem with night time binging, and I've found that a small glass of wine helps me stop. Not only does it kind of ruin my appetite for any of my trigger foods (sugary things), it puts me right to sleep!
My biggest struggle in cutting down my overall calorie intake was overcoming a nightly struggle with candy cravings. Now I substitute a bowl of frozen cherries for the pack of Twizzlers or box of Mike n Ike's. A put about a cupful of the frozen cherries in the micro for 15-20 seconds. They end up partially thawed and slushy, and it really satisfies that sugar craving.
