An omlet made with egg whites, Egg Beaters, or one whole egg and two egg whites can be very filling, especially when you add veggies. Leftover asparagus, green beans, or broccoli is great with a little fat free cheese. Spray the pan with Pam and you can saute bell peppers, mushrooms, celery, eggplant, spinach, or other such veggies; spray again and add the egg product you choose. Diced fresh tomatoes are great on top. Feel really good that you started your day so smart!!
If you grew up fat like I did, very likely there are things that you missed out on due to weight issues. Now is the time to replicate your missed experience. Didn't get to go to prom? Buy yourself a lovely gown, get an elegant hairdo, and have a night to remember on the town! Couldn't wear a fashionable bathing suit? Go ahead and splurge on bikini. You deserve it!!
Choose a password that is a positive reminder of what you are accomplishing. Although it is not something that you will share or others will see, it is a phrase you probably type every day or several times a day. Might as well make yourself feel good! Since mixing numbers and letters is a good formula for a password, consider including your goal weight or waist measurement. Consider something like: greatat128, healthy27, or 155skinny.
If you selected a username when you came to SparkPeople that was negative or neutral, consider changing it to something you feel really positive about. As OldMom3 I made a lot of friends and had some success, but now that I'm Slenderella, nothing can stop me!!
Live life with zest! Just move a little faster and bigger than in your pre-Spark days. Keep a smile on your face. Sing when you are alone in the car. It burns a few calories and keeps the spirits high! Dance or even skip down the street when you feel like it!! Why not??
Try the interval program on the elliptical trainer. For 5 months I used the elliptical regularly in the 1 to 3 resistance level. I didn't think I could do more. Then I tried the interval program. I not only could I do it, but I burned far more calories than in the weight loss mode.
When life is stressful, reward yourself for getting through it with rest. A nap is a great reward rather than food. When you can't nap, just take a little mental break. Clearing your mind for five minutes and breathing deeply can help you cope much better than a candy bar.
When I looked back over my food and exercise trackers I realized that I have done a really good job staying within my calorie range on days I took pilates in the evening. My gym offers it 7:30-8:30pm twice a week. Takes away the evening munchies & helps me sleep better. Yoga might work, too!
