I would like to introduce you to the Kangaroo brand pocket bread! I've had both the multigrain (not 100% whole grain) and the 100% whole wheat. The company has a patented method to make pita bread that opens up to easily hold several ounces of whatever you like in your pita. I've put 3 ounces of chicken in and still have room for some veggies! Easily accommodates a scrambled egg or two with some veggies or meat.
A few times per month I have been overcharged for items at the store...stores of all types, grocery stores, clothing stores, general merchandise stores and such. Look over your receipt before you leave the store. Don't be afraid or lazy about getting the money back for overcharged items. I saved an additional 4 dollars on one item due to a misapplication of a coupon. It adds up!
Some grocery stores give senior citizen discounts to patrons which are linked to the store's shoppers card. At Kroger, for instance, one can save 10% on store brand items. Just ask at the service desk for them to load the discount onto your card.
Joining Sam's Club by today (Saturday, July 31) and save 20 off the 40 dollar basic membership price. The regular price is 40 and after paying it a rebate is given in the form of a gift card. Joining Sam's Club for 20 dollars is quite a deal.
When traveling around town for the day, my husband and I bring a 6-pack cooler of drinks so that we do not have to spend double or triple the money to buy individual drinks along the way. If you had a larger group, you could pack a bit larger a cooler.
Being recently retired, I have come to the conclusion that one of the best retirement gifts you can give yourself is the gift of your own good health. Take care of yourself before you retire so you can enjoy many years of healthy retirement.
I often find items at the grocery store scan for more than the tag on the shelf states... very often on sale items. Makes a big difference over time to catch these mistakes. Some stores will give the item for free if it scans incorrectly. Very worth the effort to pay attention! :)
I return used ink cartridges to Staples for 3 dollars each, sometimes 6 dollars each, (maximum 10 per month) and receive a check to use on future ink purchases. Today I used my check to purchase 3 new ink cartridges specifically made for my printer.
