Stand up Straight!

I can still hear my mother saying that to me 50 years ago! But I've learned that concentrating on good posture- engaging your core muscles- actually helps burn a few extra calories and boosts metabolism. It's such an easy way to exercise as you go through your daily activities. Suck it in!

If you're feeling stressed...

or down- EXERCISE! You might have to push yourself to do it, but afterwards you'll feel 100% better- in both body & mind. Even if you just have time for a few minutes on the treadmill or a quick walk outside, it works

Instead of a sweet treat...

I have found that if I get a craving for a sweet something after dinner I can satisfy it by drinking a cup of flavored tea. My favorite is green tea with peach. When I finish it the craving is gone & I've kept the calories in check. Plus I've taken in some good antioxidants- a win-win!

This is the cheapest & best moisturizer around. Use it at night especially on those rough elbows or heels. It's also great for keeping your nails & cuticles healthy. It's not glamorous- but it works!

Get Outside

Even if you work in an office for 8 hours a day (like I do!) just get outside for a little while each day. I try to go for a 15-30 minute walk at lunchtime any day that the weather cooperates. Forget the elevator

This is really a no-brainer, but If you have to go to another floor just take the stairs! I work in a 3 story building and never use the elevator. Running up 3 flights uses up more calories than pushing that button.
