Nature connection/medi
tation

Find a natural place to sit for 30 minutes everyday. It could be a park, your yard or any place you can visit every day undisturbed.

HAVING COMPANY

There is not a lot of things good about being alone. Sure you need quiet time and time to do the things you want to do around the home. But 24/7 alone is not good and when friends or family come over you can laugh and have fun together. Never stay alone, join some clubs, sport events, visit friends and family you need to be around people and interact to be healthy. We are not made to be loners so live your life with people and laugh, stay healthy, smile.

Baking Soda as Silver Polish

To polish silver: Wash items, then place on aluminum foil in the bottom of a pot. Add a baking-soda solution ( cup soda, a few teaspoons salt, 1 quart boiling water) and cover for a few seconds. The result? A chemical reaction that gets the black off the gravy boat.

Pitch the catalogs

Christian speaker Matthew Kelly said that he used to look at catalogs and find things he didn't know he needed 10 minutes before getting the catalog. I was that way, too, buying stuff I didn't need. I long ago contacted all the catalog companies and told them to take me off their list. I've saved a ton of money since then, and not added to my already too-crowded closets. I really need little to live.

Shop Thrift Shops

When something is needed, check out the local thrift shops. I've gotten most of our family's clothing and household goods there for a few years now. I can get good quality items for cheap prices. Most of them have sales that lower the prices even more.

Check out Craigslist and Freecycle.org as well.

A Cheap Date Night

my hubby & I have this perfect way to feel like we get out and have some fun spending very little $,
we go to the local Border's, get a pot of tea to share ($2.89) and sit together sipping tea and reading books & magazines galore. We then put everything back & make our way home. Sometimes we follow this with a walk through town or at a local park if the weather agrees.

BIG savings at Kohls!!

I just bought $120 worth of retail price items and only paid $11 and change out of pocket!! I do this by combining offers and discounts. Here's what I had/did today: paid using 2 $10 Kohls cash I earned previously and a FREE $10 gift card that came in the mail along with a 30% coupon for the current campaign. ALL the items I bought were on sale for 40% or clearance for 70% off AND they took the 30% coupon off on top of that!! I do this a lot.

Check your receipts before leaving the store.

Yesterday at Walmart I checked my receipt and thought I was overcharged for my haircoloring - so I left the buggy with DH and checked the shelf. Well, the price had gone up - but not on my color! They gave me back $8.56 - well worth the bother.

microwave popcorn

No need to buy microwave popcorn. Put a 1/4 cup of popcorn in a lunch paper bag and microwave for around a minute and 33 seconds. Will vary on the microwave and there you have popcorn. Save the bag and reuse last quite a few cycles. Less expensive and better for you!
