Every day, do this exercise for one set.
Do the set for 10-20 reps, just to get a feel for it. If you like it, add it to a future workout.

Take the time to make certain you shoes are well fitted for walking or running.

Learn how to ignore the ups and downs of weight fluctuation. Weigh yourself every day, and use a moving average to compute a trend line. Your weight may fluctuate by 5 or more pounds per day, and your true weight loss will be lost in this fluctuation. A moving trend line makes your loss/gain clear!
Every 3-4 days I increase my calories by about 10-20% that day over the average of the previous 3-4 days.
This allows me to feel less "deprived" and allows me the occasional meal out with friends.
This also seems to keep me from the plateaus, or at least shorten them.
Short walks throughout the day help me burn calories, get some fresh air, and recharge me for my work.
Every 3 or so hours, I pick a direction and walk for 5 min. Then I turn around and retrace my steps. A quick 10 min at whatever pace you want works wonders! Try it a couple of times!
