Hungry Girl

Use the Hungry girl website. It has great lower calorie versions of your favorites. I have even tried new things because of it. Believe me you can have your cake and eat it too!

Plan an exciting late-night snack

If you have a late-night snacking problem, like I do, try this: Early in the day, plan a late-night snack you can look forward to, that will fit into your daily calorie plan but taste great too. Tell yourself that if you waste your budgeted calories too soon on other nighttime snacks, you have to skip it. Knowing that there's a good snack waiting for you later on will prevent you from eating a bunch of other snacks that aren't worth the calories.

Snack Bowl

To keep yourself from snacking on the wrong snacks:
#1. Stop buying them in your groceries!
#2. Get a big bowl and only place in 100 calorie snacks inside. Whenever you need a snack only take snacks from this bowl! emoticon

Create a weight loss savings bank account...

I opened a holiday club account with my bank. I would spend at the very least, $10 a day on buying breakfast, ordering take out with co-workers and sometimes just buy dinner because I was too exhausted to cook when I got home. Each work day that I did not buy any food (Mon - Fri) I would drop $10 in to the account. Savings vary, but at the end of the year I had around $1600 to reward myself with something really special! It's terrific!

Listing your goals on a bookmark

I love reading, so I have created a bookmark with all my weight goals/rewards and also has my pledge for what I want in life. This way I see my goals every night before going to bed and it helps keeps me focus on what is important and I take a little time to think on what I am going to do tomorrow to get me closer to my goals. emoticon

SPARKPOINTS REALLY HELP!

I have my start page on my computer set to spark people, so the first thing I see in the morning is this site. Then I go to the sparkpoints and NO MATTER HOW I DID THE DAY BEFORE I go through each step and complete it. It educates me and motivates me to continue taking baby steps that I know will make a difference. I have time because I've made TAKING CARE OF ME my second job - and I'm worth it!

Music up and down

I circuit my treadmill and elliptical exercise by increasing and decreasing the intensity (e.g., incline, speed) based on the songs I'm listening to. Mix up the tunes, mix up your workout!

Nutrition Tracker

Each morning when having my coffee I sit on computer and use my tracker to plan out my days food that I know I like and is healthy food from my refrigerator and pantry items so that I know what I am to eat and I have been more successful keeping within calorie range by using the tracker this way. I also feel more satisfied with what I do eat.
