I work on the eleventh floor. I typically walk downstairs to lower floors when I have to use the restroom, usually to floor 7 or 8, and I walk back up most of the time. I take the long route everwhere in the building I have to go. That's a great way to get in extra steps. People think I'm weird for doing so, but they don't appreciate healthy living the way I do. I love it.
Engage others in your quest for a healthier lifestyle. One of the best motivators is encouragement from friends and family. Moral support and inspiration from those around you can be very uplifting, and is one of the best magical tools to achieving your health, fitness, and weight maintenance goals. It's important to keep the right attitude and perspective. The biggest step in that is to surround yourself with people that are like you are. No matter your current state, if you routinely have positive messages from those around you, it will rub off onto you. The likewise is also true. Frequently hearing negativity from those around you will ultimately take it's toll on your resolve. Be mindful of the company you're keeping. Everyone doesn't need to be in your inner circle.
If you have plans to go to a party or out to a restaurant, fill up on healthy foods at home before you go out. If possible, carry some healthy snacks with you too. Bag of grapes, healthy nuts, celery sticks, cereal bar, bag of cereal (cheerios, shredded wheat, etc). Doing this will save you tons of worry.
An important factor to losing and maintaining weight is getting proper rest. Getting sufficient amounts of rest consistently can help immensely to losing weight and maintaining your weight loss. So, be sure you get to bed on time on a regular basis.
