Sometimes when I'm bored and foraging in the kitchen, I grab a bottle of clear nail polish and put a coat on my fingernails. In the time it takes to dry, I can usually talk myself into doing something more productive than snacking.
I am adding water bottles to my decor, wherever I am. One at my desk at work, one for the car, one for my workout bag, one by my recumbent bike...and I always fill them before I walk away from them. That way water is everywhere I want to be!
I save the pages from my Spark motivational day at a glance calendar. When I need to make a note for someone in my office, I use the back of a page. Then when I pass along the note, I'm also passing along great info from SparkPeople.com and a quote or a tip for healthy living!
I try to work in as much extra movement in my day as I can. Waiting on lunch to heat in the microwave? Try some wall push-ups. Walking down the (empty) hallway? Lift your knees high or skip or walk backward. I even go up and down the stairs at the end of the hall every chance I get!
I was able to find 3 pairs of pants, size 18, at a local re-sale shop. I was surprised at all the larger sizes they had! You can save when you buy, and if you can bring in clothes, get money for what you outgrow. Definitely worth checking it out.
When I have time on the weekends, I make as many different dishes to freeze as I can, using common ingredients - like chopped peppers, onions, garlic, or even white sauce. While the cutting board and knives are out, I get all my chopping done and only have to clean up once.
I love my recumbent bike and what is does for my *bottom half*, but I don't always balance it with a similar workout for my arms, so I started using a small weight and doing some bicep curls, etc., while I ride. Every little bit helps!
