I have found my ultimate way to clean glass...
I was losing very slowly until I went alcohol free for 40 days. Weight came off much quicker then. Now I strive for balance. Drink alcohol only 2 days per week max. Amazing what this little change can do to speed up weight loss.
Those nice evenings when you want to have a few drinks, why not grab a bottle of water after you get your buzz on and take a nice long walk? Take a friend, significant other and just hit the road. You'll be surprised how long you can walk when you have the right amount of alcohol in you.
I've been using the CVS Lavender Scented Alcohol Swabs since 8/09 and I love them! I'm a diabetic and need to test, but I hate pricking my finger. The natural lavender smell (not gross like fake lavender) is calming and pleasant. It's worth the extra money. See "more info" for the negative...
I go out with my friends at least once a week for drinks. But upon seeing that a couple of gin and tonics are like 300 calories, I've put the brakes on. Now, I'm sneaking a water on the rocks with a lime (looks just like a gin and tonic), and my waistline AND my wallet are thanking me.
After discussing it with everyone online, it is pretty well agreed that alcohol puts weight on us. IMHO, it ain't the calories of the alcohol what's doin' it, it's the chemical effect. I quit drinking for 3 months late last year and lost 30 lbs. I quit in 2005 and lost some 40 lbs.
Not only will this save you calories, and save you from feeling bloated and gross the next day, but it will also save your internal organs! Drinking in moderation is fine, but if you're a partier or in college, think about your liver before it quits on you -- it is NOT a fun experience.
No matter what my friends say "Alcohol" is not good while you're trying to loose weight, I drink EVERY WEEKEND." I'm finally saying "no more alcohol" at least while I try to loose weight, I went from 165 to 236 lbs in two years and part of it was the alcohol!
I find that when I avoid wine, I lose weight. It's not rocket science. After a couple glasses of wine, I eat unhealthy foods or too much food. I usually have wine on weekends, but then I find that all my week long efforts and weight loss are squashed by my weekend antics. Not worth it.
