When using my laptop - I place it on a 1 foot high table or box then place that table on top of my dining room table. This lets me comfortably use my laptop standing up! I spend way more hours standing then sitting now. We all know how bad sitting is for us!
Often a Sparkmember will have a gorgeous picture as their page background but it will be hidden by the page itself, usually only showing the outer edges of the picture, no matter how far down you scroll.
Standing desks burn a lot of calories. You can build them easily for your treadmill (the best standing desk) or you can put your laptop on the counter while working. Take the time to move between sitting and standing while at your computer to keep the blood flowing, increase posture, and get some extra exercise. Your legs and back will thank you.
Never buy a computer printer based on the sale price. It totally doesn't matter. One company in particular *coughHPcough* puts their printers on sale at super low cost. That's because they don't make their money selling printers, they make money selling INK! Next time you want a printer, go to the ink aisle to find the cheapest ink cartridge and buy the corresponding printer. Of course I have a cousin so bitter that rather than buying $30 ink refills, he buys $32 printers every time
I felt like my butt was getting wider every time I got on the computer because I was sitting, so now I have it on the island in the kitchen and I stand up while I'm on it. I'm almost constantly moving so it's got to be better than sitting.
Even though they don't suggest eating in front of a TV or computer, I do.
If you have the chance to log your meal or snack right away while you are eating or or directly after, you won't have to try to remember what you ate throughout the day and this way, you are less likely going to forget what you ate when its time to log it in.
