Seeing the picture behind the page

Often a Sparkmember will have a gorgeous picture as their page background but it will be hidden by the page itself, usually only showing the outer edges of the picture, no matter how far down you scroll.

To uncover the picture, right click and choose View Background Image - the whole picture will open in another tab and you'll be able to see the smiling face!

Standing Desk Burns Calories

Standing desks burn a lot of calories. You can build them easily for your treadmill (the best standing desk) or you can put your laptop on the counter while working. Take the time to move between sitting and standing while at your computer to keep the blood flowing, increase posture, and get some extra exercise. Your legs and back will thank you.

Reminder to GET UP AND GO!

I sit at a desk ALL day. To keep from getting too wrapped up and not moving for hours, I set a reminder in my work e-mail calendar to go off every hour every day to remind me to GET UP AND GO!

Save Money When Printing

Never buy a computer printer based on the sale price. It totally doesn't matter. One company in particular *coughHPcough* puts their printers on sale at super low cost. That's because they don't make their money selling printers, they make money selling INK! Next time you want a printer, go to the ink aisle to find the cheapest ink cartridge and buy the corresponding printer. Of course I have a cousin so bitter that rather than buying $30 ink refills, he buys $32 printers every time emoticon

Stand up while on the computer

I felt like my butt was getting wider every time I got on the computer because I was sitting, so now I have it on the island in the kitchen and I stand up while I'm on it. I'm almost constantly moving so it's got to be better than sitting.

Making the most of a sedentary activity, I use my stability ball exclusively - many moments, many moves.

Can eating in front of a box sometimes be good?

Even though they don't suggest eating in front of a TV or computer, I do.
I pre-portion my meals. I only eat in front of my work PC. When I have dinner at the table with my family, I'm always the first one done and I feel less fulfilled with my meal....

"Print" to your computer internally

I have a nice scanner/printer, but rarely use it: I use MS OneNote & print from the internet browser directly into my computer.

Logging WHEN you eat!!

If you have the chance to log your meal or snack right away while you are eating or or directly after, you won't have to try to remember what you ate throughout the day and this way, you are less likely going to forget what you ate when its time to log it in.

Use Your Computer!

Make computer time constructive! Use your computer to send you reminders throughout the day. I set mine to remind me when it's time to take daily medication, when to go exercise, when to start dinner, etc.
