Many if not all of us have a a set of beliefs or thoughts about ourselves or a situation. You may even be consciously aware of a few of them but the truly scary thing is that many of us tell ourselves these thoughts over and over so often they become unconscious. So, pay attention to those "tapes" you are replaying to yourself and when you catch a negative one, actively and consciously replace it with a more positive statement. You may even have to say it out loud to yourself in the beginning.
Just STOP the thought train that creates "reasons" (excuses) and debates whether or not you should exercise or eat right. When I hear myself debating and rationalizing, I call myself out on it. "Heyyyyyy.........wait a minute........" Once I realize where that train is headed, I jump right off and get back on the right track. Listen to yourself and quit thinking! ;-)
Over the last 5 months I have lost 10 kg which makes me feel great but I was only able to do it because I kept positive. It really does help and if you are able to get family, friends, collegues to support you to then that is even better.
It happens-something tempts you! It can be anything and it can be something you bought or something someone else bought--it can be in your cupboard or frig or at work or anything/ any place. If you promise yourself that you will wait ten minutes before you eat it, you will give yourself time to think about it. Are you REALLY hungry? Do you really want that food or can you make a better choice? Will a glass of water serve you better? Chances are that you won't eat it ten minutes later!
I have found that when I schedule exercise for myself, and not allow myself to think it over I have no problem getting out the door and going to the gym or going for a walk. If I think to long... I think about how hard it will be and the 100 things waiting on my to do list and I don't do it!
There's a saying I used to hear "a moment on the lips = a lifetime on the hips." I don't think just applies to weight loss efforts, but n every area of our lives. Sometimes we get so caught up in the moment, that that 1 decision not only effects us, but so many others. So before you take that
Everyday I wake up with a positive attitude for just about anything, I find that a smile will help get the day started and a great way for the day to end, no matter how upsetting life is always smile, it helps!
I see the positive side of all circumstances and situations. Being positive won't prevent problems from occurring but will lessen their effect on us. Always believe in yourself and trust that things WILL work out for the better.
My sister and I have a wall of positive quotes. When someone puts me down or rains on my parade, I go to the wall of positive quotes and start reading. I print my quotes from SparkPeople too! They have some great ones.
