I have recently started to do my shopping at Save-A-Lot. The savings have helped me stay within my food budget. As an example: Bananas are 3lbs for $1.00. Of course you have to know the prices because not everything is a bargain.
They also take coupons and have their own coupons on their web site.

My husband and I do most of our shopping at the dollar store. This includes fruits and vegetables. We buy beans and brown rice from the bulk bins at the local discount grocery store. That leaves a very few items left to buy at the regular grocery store.
As soon as I unpack my groceries from my reusable grocery bags, I put the empty bags near the door that is on my way outside. This way I can grab them on the next trip out to the car and have them ready for my next shopping trip.341
When I get to my favorite grocery store, there are large signs around the parking lots reminding customers not to forget their shopping bags.
