I am just not one of those people who is ever going to enjoy going to the gym and working out on a regular basis. Therefore, I try to incorporate exercise through fun activities, such as hiking, biking, canoeing, etc. or useful activities, such as housework & yardwork. It just makes my life much more enjoyable :)
I take vacations by going tent camping 1-2 nights at a time, 4-5 times per season. Hauling all the gear out to my car, setting up camp, & doing chores that I don't do at home such as hauling water and firewood, cooking over the fire, or taking a hike to the dumpster to dispose garbage, are opportunities to get activity in, and also to get a greater appreciation for modern conveniences. The extra R & R gives me a chance to reflect on my goals, & come home rejuvenated & ready to face my challenges
Whether camping or taking a day trip, going to a park that offers activities is a fun way to get in some fitness vacationing. Look for parks that have things like hiking and biking trails, beaches, boat rentals such as kayaks, canoes & paddle boats, horseback riding, geo-caching, golf and more.
