Does anyone else have trouble when listening to a great song while on the treadmill almost trip and fall because your body all of sudden decided to start dancing instead of walking? emoticon
FYRSTORME1 4/21/2010 10:28:00 AM

you have no idea how motivational music can be i even use soothing music to ease my mind and my stress. This morning i went for a power walk and i was almost about to quite before the last minute but one of my favs came on and i made it through the last minute and add 4 others.
LLEWIS6879 3/26/2010 1:33:00 PM

Don't stop movin, by Livin' Joy from the Jock Jams 3 album. The beat, the lyrics! It's AMAZING!!
It makes me feel like I really can do anything!
FREDERICKS04 3/25/2010 8:35:00 PM

I feel the same way. I get more out of my exercise routine when I have a good song to exercise to or a good beat.
GETRESULTSMDMEE 1/12/2011 8:41:00 PM

Thats why I love Zumba fitness!!!
YOUNGPADOWAN 8/31/2010 11:51:00 AM

seriously, i started putting in my "rock out in the apartment on my headphones" time as fitness time- especially on a hot day, it's WORK. I LOVE IT. by the time i'm done, i've run the course, and i'm sweating. I actually do dance, not just club dancing, so even though i have limited space, i try to involve a little piece of everything i've learned over the years. there are days i attempt a barre routine on my china hutch to slower music.
if at the end i'm sweating and i have to take a minute or two to catch my breath, i call it a workout, even if it was just me shaking my butt to music i love :) rock on :)
AKAFIT 5/17/2010 4:18:00 PM

Music, has always and will always be my source of great expression. A good song has the power to make me think, help me to change, make me cry, and even help me to figure out lives ups and downs. Great music always helps to motivate me to work out harder, faster and longer. emoticon
FUNLOVINGONE 4/5/2010 3:56:00 AM

I think music has a big impact on our mood. I am new so going to look for music that I can play when I wake up in the morning to get me on track for the day.
GERRYCAM1 3/29/2010 8:35:00 PM

I downloaded 101 housework songs to my ipod. Some trash, but it keeps me dancin' as I'm dustin' (it stops my thought that this is boring---I think of it as giving me exercise points.)
HAPPY_KNEES 6/25/2010 4:44:00 PM

Before I work out, I listen to Prodigy and KMFDM. That'll get me going before a class!

When I need to push through a threshold, I listen to dance music. It helps me feel like I'm in a club. I know I would be dancing until it closes. So, I have no excuses, but to keep on working out as if I were dancing the night away. That has dragged me over some serious hurdles!
KRISTYLC8878 3/25/2010 2:55:00 PM

I need my music, without it i wouldnt make it through my work out!
HAPPYFEET9903 12/4/2011 9:47:00 PM

I agree with the fact that music gets/keep you going. I joined a square dance club and ballroom dancing in my town (after losing 40 pounds) because it just keeps you moving forward with the exercise. And it's soooooo much fun to dance/exercise with other people. I do have an elliptical machine, treadmill, and Schwinn exerbike. I put in a 'Biggest Loser Video' or 'Bootcamp' with Jillian Michaels or Kim Rogers also and do their routines on alternate days. Try to do something different to keep you interested. emoticon
JOYTORJ 11/4/2010 5:56:00 AM

I have loaded 'embarrasing to be seen to listen to songs' onto my ipod and whether doing housework, work work or work out work I can bop along and no one knows the cringeworthy music that is making me smile.
SALLYANNE0852 4/10/2010 7:53:00 AM

    that is so true

when i went to the gym the harder the drive of the music the harder i worked out

GINLYNN913 5/6/2011 10:29:00 AM

Without music, I would have a hard time exercising. It really motivates me. That's probably why I love Zumba so much. I love to dance, and I love Latin music so it was only natural. Also, the calm, meditative music when I do yoga serves to relax me more. Where would we be without music? It's the soundtrack of our lives.
LUCYVT 4/3/2011 2:46:00 PM

Music keeps me going when I want to quit.
HAVANESE_FAN 3/25/2011 12:37:00 PM

Can anyone list any more specific songs? I need *BEAT* that helps me power it up as I try to keep my pace strong. Two of my favorites have been Bob Seger's Old Time Rock and Roll and Holding Out for a Hero from the Footloose soundtrack; I use a few others from the Footloose soundtrack, however, do you have suggestions for ways to find more good BEAT music that I can use so that I am not using the same thing again and again?

I like to bellydance. It's tough at first. I do a cardio workout for about 30 minutes. I am sweating like a pig when I'm done. The next day I can certainly feel the burn (in a good way). Any distraction works.
FUTUREHOPE49 11/16/2010 4:20:00 PM

DIVASPARK 6/10/2010 8:44:00 PM

    yes music is the key.
MOXIE22 6/8/2010 8:55:00 AM

When you are listening to music it's like having a sound track to your life. It makes what you're doing more fun and exciting. I too find myself "dancing" on the treadmill - I have to sometimes adjust the speed or I'm moving up to the front too fast!
emoticon
SHERRI1002 6/6/2010 10:28:00 PM

PEDAL-PUSHER 4/12/2010 1:00:00 PM

LADYHATIPAT2 4/6/2010 6:35:00 PM

When I am riding my stationary bicycle nothing makes the miles fly better than a good roudy song. emoticon
HIDDENBELLA 4/1/2010 3:34:00 PM

When I start to get bored of my workouts I load some new songs on the shuffle. It always gives me a little bump to get going in the morning.
LYN-EDWY 3/27/2010 12:37:00 AM

I love to do my dancing to my favourite tunes. Keeps me young and plan to be for a long time yet! Best cardio workout ever!
J0HNS0NLA 3/26/2010 1:25:00 PM

This is SO true. Without music I have a hard time slogging through workouts.
LOGICALLOSS 3/26/2010 11:44:00 AM

I love anything by Disturbed. I made all my workout songs into a playlist on my ipod, and then shuffle it. Everyday its a new list.
CGARR442 3/25/2010 2:37:00 PM

I agree with you. Sometimes when I'm on the treadmill I will put on a song that really motivates me and I'll try to run the whole song as fast as I can. The music really does pump you up!
JIM1MICHAEL2 3/25/2010 2:33:00 PM

My favorite song to 'dancercize' to is Barry White's "You're My First, My Last, My Everthing". For me. there's just enough slow down that I can take a breath. margi. emoticon
