Don't keep clothes that are too big for you. Clothes that fit you are your constant check that you are staying the course. When the clothes get snug you have too take care of it because you have nothing else to wear.
When I was first losing weight I drove around with my "big" clothes in my car for 4 months before I had the strength to drop them off. My little voice in my head kept thinking, what if I need them again. I knew I had to get rid of them- I can't backslide too far.

GET RID OF YOUR "FAT" CLOTHES! Since the beginning of my journey I've gotten rid of my clothes as they've gotten too big. I started gaining weight back and didn't really notice until my pants and tops started getting tighter and tighter.
Had I kept my bigger clothes I probably would've just kept gaining. I don't have the money to just throw away on new clothes every time I gain a bit of weight so I have no choice but to get back on track and keep losing.
As you lose weight, get rid of the "fat clothes," the clothes that have become too big on you, and never turn back.
Make a pact with yourself never to buy bigger clothes again. Unless you simply want to keep one item for nice "proof" photos of your former self. This is a huge motivating factor for me to keep my weight where it is, and not allow myself to backtrack. It's my "no-turning-back" policy
The best thing I did for maintenance was to get rid of all my old clothes. I did wear them loose for a while but then when I started buying new clothes I got rid of them and never looked back. I had lost weight before and kept the old clothes and ended up having to wear them again. I think not wanting to spend the money buying big clothes is a great motivator. 30
