Having a heart rate monitor shows me just how hard (or not!) I am working, and motivates me to keep up the intensity and sometimes even do more than usual because I can instantly see my progress!

My HRM is the Polar FT4.

    I don't have one yet, but I can TOTALLY see how this is a good secret as I've been starting to think 10k steps aren't all created equal and I really should be tracking aerobic steps to maximize weight loss. Heart monitor is a great idea - thanks!
