Secrets of Success

Nobody Ever Got In Trouble From Eating Their Veggies

Those were the words from my dietican when I discoved I had diabetes. She set up a "diet" for me of 4 carb choices a meal, giving me 5 for dinner and 2 for snacks. She told me not to include veggies (unless they are the starchy ones) in my total because nobody got introuble for eating them :)

  • What your dietician said is not completely true. Diabetes often leads to Gastroparesis and people with GP can definitely get hurt eating a lot of high fiber foods expecially veggies - by IKACEY
I've been on Atkins Induction for almost 3 years, and keep my blood sugars in the non diabetic range without meds of any sort. I f I have followed my CDE's advice, I'd not only be on metformin, but insulin by now. 45 carbs a day is just too high for me.

  • I had decided to make more soups this fall and winter. It is the best way for me to get a lot of vegetables in me. This week it is turkey, vegetable and barley soup! Had some for breakfast this morning! emoticon - by CHILDOFGOD4LIFE
