Those were the words from my dietican when I discoved I had diabetes. She set up a "diet" for me of 4 carb choices a meal, giving me 5 for dinner and 2 for snacks. She told me not to include veggies (unless they are the starchy ones) in my total because nobody got introuble for eating them :)

I sometimes have trouble getting in all my protein on a daily basis so I came up with this handy trick!
For lunch I usually have soup soup - Quick and easy! I add 1 cup extra frozen veggies to get in veggies. I add extra clams to "clam chowder", "turkey Sausage" to gumbo, canned chicken to chick noodle..well ya get the point! Also stretches 1 can of soup into a heart meal for 2!
