I work in a cube and get little movement from my job. Each time I need to use the bathroom I take the stairs from the 5th floor to the first, then back up.

Just that little bit of movement adds a lot of steps to my day and jump starts my brain again with increased oxygen.

    That's fabulous! I like to take the stairs too, but sometimes it's hard to find them. I'm going to try to look for them, for that oxygen boost to the brain. emoticon emoticon

    I did this too when I worked out of the home. I was on another team on another site at the time and we called it "Potty Training". LOL Also when we would go potty, we would take and extra minute to do 10-12 squats or lunges or wall ups in the stall. It is a great way to get in movement and exercise. Since we could eat at our desks if I went potty on my break I would walk to another building and back. On lunch I would walk around the industrial park where I worked.

    I go the long way around the floor to get back to my desk after going to the restroom and drink a lot of green tea so I am making more trips emoticon emoticon emoticon

    Its a great idea! I dont have any stairs where i work so when i go to the bathroom i use the space near the sink (it is a single toliet) and lay on a cardy and do crunches and squats. Since doing this for about 3 weeks i am seeing results and very motivated to sneak in as many short bursts of strengh moves as possible :)

    Good idea. I am on crutches or a cane on good days, but maybe I will have more good days if I start using the stairs again. Maybe not all 15 floors though.

    I fold clothes in my living room after two or three pieces I bring those up to whose ever room the clothes belong to then back downstairs to fold more and I repeat that until laundry is done. We have 7 of living in my house, so it keeps me busy and exercised. emoticon

    I do the same thing, go to the bathroom that is upstairs (300 steps away from my office according to my pedometer). The twist I add is to try to consume 6 of my 8 glasses of water a day while I am at work so I have to make more trips:) emoticon
