If your still buying prepackaged boxes of hamburger helper, tuna helper, macaroni and cheese. Make it a lot healthier and cheaper just use 1/4 to 1/2 a box and add a huge bag of frozen veggies. This will cut fat, salt, calories and money!
Save the rest of the box for another meal, or make the entire package doubling the vegetables and freeze half. Or freeze in portions for quick tv dinners later.

It is good to eat up to 10 g. of protein within 30 min. If working out. My favorite way to do that is to eat low calorie string cheese. It has 9g of protein and is not only low in calories, it is portable in your workout bag and helps cool you down. I also use it to get in sufficient calcium during the day and no carbs involved.4
If you're watching your portion sizes of various foods at mealtimes, it can be tedious to use measuring cups. Here's a trick that's often used in cafeterias and professional kitchens: use an ice cream scoop with a retractable food release mechanism. They come in various sizes and make it easy to measure out a half cup serving or a tablespoon portion as long as you know how much the 'bowl' of the scoop contains (I've marked mine with permanent marker.) Quick, easy, and foolproof.
Ice cream scoops are especially good for the home baker counting calories. Place batter into muffin cups or scoop cookie dough onto a baking sheet -- each serving will be uniform in size. Together, a scoop & the SparkRecipe calculator will help you measure and account for your homemade treats.
