I drink a big glass of water as soon as I wake up each morning. I learned this tip from fitness expert Denise Austin. The reasoning is that your body has gone without fluid for the last 6-10 hours (however long you sleep) and is dehydrated. It also helps jumpstart your metabolism.

    I have done this for a long time without knowing it is what an expert says. Two glasses before I even shower starts my day wonderfully.

    Yes, I have been drinking at least 1, sometimes 2 cups of water before breakfast. I can tell I'm "dry" when I wake up, then after I pee I have even less water in me, so it makes sense. Gives me a jump start on the 8 cups of water per day, which is still hard for me to do sometimes. (5 month Sparker at this point, some months more faithful than others, but getting better.)

    Fabulous idea! I wake up feeling dehydrated pretty frequently. I just bought a water bottle, so that I would drink more.

    I try to get my water in early on in the day, at lest 2 glasses before I finish getting ready for work (exercising in the morning also encourages me to drink more). I find if I get a jump on it early in the day, I'm not trying to drink it all before I'm heading off to bed (hate having to wake up in the middle of the night with a full bladder)
