Do your laundry in the evening or on the weekends when electric rates are lower. I know you're tired when you get home from work and have to think about cooking, exercise, homework help, etc. Enlist your family's help! It's really an easy chore that everyone needs to learn anyway.

We're now serious about not wasting electricity. We have convinced ourselves to look at each light bulb, radio, fan, etc. as water faucets for electricity. Would you wash your hands and walk away leaving the faucet to run all day? Of course not! Keep reading... there's more...189
We also now have at least one floor lamp in each room. Most of the time in the evening that's all we need. (Our living room was built with 8 sunken 65watt flood lights.) Why turn on EIGHT lights when one will do? IF we need it bright, then we go bright, but only for as long as needed. 3
