The old diet standbys of grapefruit, cabbage with low calorie veggie soup, and crisp salads are good to include in healthy eating plans. They help to fill you up and give you needed nutrients. You'll feel better, lose weight, and be able to stick to it!!

I love making soups and I usually make enough for 3-4 days. To keep it crunchy, I finely cut some cabbage and line the bowl with the cabbage and ladle in some hot soup. The cabbage takes on the soup's taste and also stays crunchy.
Cabbage is highly promoted for prevention of cancer. A compound in cabbage, sulforaphane, also helps protect cells from invasion of carcinogens & even repairs ulcers. Cabbage has a substance that inhibits the conversion of sugar and other carbohydrates into fat, definitely a painless way of dieting. Eat uncooked cabbage, either on its own, or juiced. Shred onto salads, make soup, steam with fennel seeds.
