This Sparked Me!

There are times when I get down because I didn't achieve certain things in life. The best thing that ever happened to me was that I was never given a shoulder to cry on in those situations. From that point I realized that - if you really want to help someone - the best way to bring a person up is to give them a nice verbal kick in the a$$ to get them going back in the right direction. By sympathizing, it allows that person to further justify feeling down or negative.

I get further depressed by being kicked in the a$$ when I'm sad and down. That doesn't work for me. It makes me feel inadequte and unloved. It may be a very religious upbringing that makes me feel guilty about a lot of things.
