Put Yourself First

This Sparked Me!

I find if I get up early and put myself first on the list by exercising first thing , as if I let it go , it is not going to happen, my day usually runs away from me, and later never comes.

This is so right. No one else is going to take care of you but you. Take the time to be first!

If you don't work out in the mornings life interfers way to often!
FOREVERFITCHICK 6/14/2012 3:34:00 PM

My early morning workouts are always the best! Great advice for so many of us!

The hardest part of any workout can be the start
PAMULDROW2007 6/14/2012 10:35:00 AM

I agree with you. I find if I workout in the morning while everyone is sleep guarantee that I will stick and finish to my workout.
MRSTABER 6/14/2012 9:29:00 AM

    Great tip!
MEVILL 6/14/2012 9:05:00 AM

I have done the same. I'm a regular at an evening spin class, but it never fails, I miss at least one of the four classes every week...because something comes up. My "just in case" Plan B is really my Plan A; I get up early, while every one else is in deep slumber and go to the gym. It's never as strenuous a workout as my spin class, but it is fitness, whether I'm climbing hills on the treadmill or enjoying the elliptical; I sweat and I feel great. I still aim for the spin class, but the guilt of missing the odd session isn't near as bad if I've made my morning gym date.

You are so right! Once the day starts, I'm too busy taking care of other things to think of myself, let alone exercise. Getting up an hour earlier gets my "pumps" going earlier and actually gives me more energy for the rest of the day!
CMORISAK 6/14/2012 6:27:00 AM

    good advice
SUCCESS68 6/14/2012 3:41:00 AM

I love to help others but I recently realized I can't help others without first helping myself. I have to nourish my mind, soul and body. To do this I have to put myself first. I get up 20-30 min earlier to exercise and put my mini meals together . Then I do 10 min of light cleaning before going to work.
FRIENDOFBACH 4/11/2012 11:28:00 PM

I have exactly the same problem. It is the best way to deal with it,
WENDIGAYLE 4/11/2012 9:51:00 PM

I need motivation here. I have fallen off the last couple of weeks. Good advice I need to live by,
LOULAR68 4/11/2012 8:52:00 PM

    Good advice
TUBLADY 4/11/2012 8:12:00 PM

I am lucky that I can work early in my office and then at 8:00 go to the gym. I go 5 days a week. After my workouts , I feel like I am energized for the whole day.
The only time I will miss the gym if I have a doctors appointment that I can't schedule any other time. And then I usually get to the gym later in the day or put a DVD on and work out at home. Never miss a day of exercise.
SUZICANDO 4/11/2012 7:34:00 PM

Wonderful advice. If I don't exercise in the am it does not get done.
SCULLEN84 4/11/2012 3:16:00 PM

I too find that when I procrastinate it never gets done!
CROWLEY123 4/11/2012 1:43:00 PM

If not absolutely first, at least on the short list!
PICKLEMIRE 4/11/2012 9:55:00 AM

I think of my workout as a social event. I get a good workout and keep up on what is going on in my small town.
BANNERMAN 4/11/2012 9:39:00 AM

    Keep up the good work!
DEARTOMYHEART 4/11/2012 9:16:00 AM

I agree. God comes first and then yourself. Every thing and every one can wait! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
BECKAFANO 4/11/2012 9:00:00 AM

I exercise after work. I've learned to think of it as my 'reward' after a long hard day. After exercising I feel better and can re-focus, so that's my reward. It also gives me all day to get myself pumped up about it. I thing about what goals I can accomplish today, how many calories can I burn, how I'm gong to feel afterward or what I can do to make my work out better. I find myself looking forward to and excited to do my exercise when I get home. That's what works for me anyway!
BAPSANN 4/11/2012 8:53:00 AM

I agree. We really should take just a few minutes for God, then for ourselves and see how different our day will be.
HYATTI1 4/11/2012 7:51:00 AM

Great Advice but what about the night people that can't get up early or your early is their late?
PEACE39 4/11/2012 7:40:00 AM

I know this, but it is a matter of me doing it. It is such a mental battle to go to bed and get up on time.
ANGELALYNN82 4/11/2012 7:13:00 AM

I never realized how true this is until a few Weeks ago. Great tip. emoticon
