My Fall/winter Oatmeal

Members Were Sparked
This Sparked Me!

In the cool weather months, I add 1/4 cup pure pumpkin puree to my oatmeal. I make my oatmeal with skim milk and add the pumpkin before cooking it in the microwave (stir well). Once it is cooked, I add my walnuts and a sliced banana. It is like having dessert for breakfast but it is really packed with what you need- Vitamin A, whole grains, calcium, potassium, omega-3, etc... A dash of cinnamon is also good in it. This is very satisfying and filling.

I'm going to have to remember to try this once the weather turns cooler again and I'm eating oatmeal. Sounds delicious!

That sounds soooo good! I'll try it since I always have pumpkin in the pantry.

I slice my baban in to the oat bran and water and oh boy how sweet it is. Pat in Maine.
