I am not a tall person and my counters are just a little bit too high. I love to cook. Often after I had been stirring mixtures,my shoulders ache. I do have a new stand mixer but not everything can be mixed that way. My solution is to go to the sink. I can whisk with bowl down over the lower surface and any spills goes down the drain. Try it you might like it. Pat in Maine.

I put a sign above the sink stating "No dirty dishes in the sink." It's easier to get the dishes started when they are not piled in there, and it makes you feel better to have a clean sink. Also, people are forced to stack dishes as we have limited counter space beside the sink.
Once a week, I put the sink stopper, drain strainer, dish brush, and sponges in the dishwasher to run with the load of dishes. It is just a tiny little thing, but it makes a world of difference. These items stay nice and clean and never smell bad!
